HIGH RESOLUTION DIGITAL SCAN OF ORIGINAL ART

START WITH GREAT SCAN

Once we have your original work of art, we take great measure to ensure the best color matches during the original scanning and proofing processes before making the final prints. Profiles are generated based upon the actual printer and the specific media being used to form your work.

PRICE: This one-time set up fee of $120 includes high resolution scanning for maximum size up to 48″ and $145 for larger than 48″ and up to a maximum of two small size 8 x 10 proofs for color. Once you’ve reviewed the proofs you can request additional adjustments at additional fee of $50/hour prior to making the final prints. The final scan will be securely archived with the title and exact size details for future reference. Please note that as long as your original remains in our studio, we will create several proofs until we are confident that we have matched the colors to the best possible extent.

PRINTING AND PAPER: We use wide-format printers which include the Epson 9900 with 12 color pigment ink, 2400 DPI, and 60-inch wide format capability. Our ability to recreate your work to the best possible degree requires that we use the most appropriate paper depending upon the original medium used in the original. For example we use the following:

Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm - This paper is acid-free, has a slightly textured surface and is mold made. It is highly suitable for a variety of print editions, in particular for finely detailed work and black & white photography.

Hahnemühle Museum Etching 350 gsm -  This paper offers the smooth, sumptuous texture of a traditional etching board and a natural white point, and is an ideal medium for images with soft tints and fine nuances of grey.

Hahnemühle William Turner 310 gsm - It is ideal for watercolors, drawings and other work.  This paper has a wonderfully textured surface and is a natural white with 100% rag content.

Canson BFK Rives 310 gsm - It has a very smooth texture, and unique pure white tone with no OBAs, and meets galleries and museum longevity requirements.

Epson Hot Press Natural 330 gsm - It has a warm smooth matte surface on natural white base. It has a wide color garmut and black density with no OBAs, perfect for fine arts and photography.
